Hey Friend!
I’m Gabriella Skye (Gabi)… welcome to my side of the web.
I’m a thirty something year old who likes to write songs and make music—“something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” I tend to write or make covers based on what I’m sensing, feeling and/or dwelling on—some songs for my Creator and Savior, some for specific people, some for life in general and many things in between.
My first single as Gabriella Skye, “Somebody Else’s Shoes,” is set to be released in 2026 with more to follow [Lord willing]. I hope that through my music you find a space to think, feel, breathe, cry and be at peace—all wrapped in one.Thank you for listening!

Get to know me
Why Stories Matter To Me
I really enjoy listening to people’s stories (in person, in films or books). Through my music making you may get some of my own story, stories of those I know or have briefly met, those I’ve heard about or stories I’ve imagined.
I’m married to my best friend and we have four kids earthside and one on the other side (lost through miscarriage). We’re living in Florida, U.S.A., but dream of traveling and living beyond this land.
A Life Surrounded by Music
I come from a God-fearing, Christ-following and musical family. My first introduction to music would be as difficult to remember as my first introduction to God. Both have been in my life for my whole life.
My pops is a singer, guitarist, bassist and writer himself. My mom is an art school alumni (focus on clarinet) and has warm vocals. From my dad’s Christian rock band shows to leading worship as a family in church gatherings, music has always been in my life.
Australia, Community, and Craft
Born and raised in the U.S.A., I moved to Sydney, Australia for my college years. I spent four years there studying (leadership, music and songwriting), working, and living.
During those years I met many people from different cultures and experiences. My worldview, including my musical taste, was broadened. I also began learning and honing my songwriting craft. Surrounded by musicians, writers, and producers, I felt like I was constantly in an environment to create.
Creativity Beyond Borders
I moved from Australia back to the U.S. in 2016 but kept in contact (or at least followed on Instagram) with my college friends. One of those friends started a creative arts program in Haiti called Milk Carton on a String.
I had the privilege of visiting her and her kids in Haiti and volunteering three or more years in a row at a stateside summer intensive and benefit for that creative arts program. There I met many more creatives who continue to inspire me today — rayon soleil!
Faith, Family, and the Life We’re Building
My move back to the U.S. in 2016 was to sink myself into a community of believers (aka “a local church”). A short time later, I (re)met my now husband while we were serving at a local teen center.
I became a creative pastor in my community and filled that role for eight years. Although we are no longer in any official creative, church, or professional role, we are still focused on God, family, people, creation, and music.
Still Becoming
